Well, Bela was a chatterbug early on. We stopped counting at 18 months, when she had over 100 words. She uses the words to tell us exactly what we should and shouldn't do. As her pediatrician told us "She is a leader!" (what she meant to say was "She is bossy!"). Most of these words have been perfected since then, but we kept the list in its "pure form" since she reached 18 months.

What I say and what it means
1. Mama - My mama!
2. Mom? - What I say when I am puzzled because I can't see my mama.
3. Dada - Either my dad or Gabriel. I think it means "male person whom I love."
4. Moh! - More. My dad taught me this so I could ask for more food, but I use it to mean "Give me that food/drink!" even if I haven't had any yet.
5. Hi - Hi. Usually said when someone is across the room and I wave to them.
6. Doh - Dog
7. Yaydee - Lady, our doggie.
8. Nuh! - Nurse. I say this when I want to nurse from my mommy. (3/1) Nuas
9. Moo - I am not sure this is a word, but I think it means that white and black animal. (Mom's note: It is for cow, but she also uses it for Snoopy.)
10. Deh! - There. I use it for pointing.
11. No - No
12. Uh-oh - I use it after I drop something on purpose on the floor so that someone feels they need to pick it up for me. Then I drop it again "uh-oh!"
13. Baaa - Bye! I usually say this after the person left so they never get to hear it. I also wave while I say it.
14. Pooh - (11/7) Winnie-the-Pooh! My dad's and my favorite character!
15. Hewow - (11/7) Hello? I say this when I put a phone against my head. I will not say it if there is someone speaking on the other end. (1/22) Lately this sounds more like Ello (Hello without the H)
16. Baw - (11/7) Ball
17. Baba - (11/7) Baby (3/1) Now I say it perfectly - baby.

19. Lehla - (11/15) Bela, my name.
20. Lellow - (11/21) Yellow, my favorite color. I use it to mean any color, and sometimes I just get it right! My parents like to think I know what yellow is, but I really just say it for any colorful object, and sometimes I get lucky.
21. Op - (12/31) Up, when I want to be picked up or help climbing on something.
22. Down - Down, used for "Ring Around the Rosy" and just to go up and down.
23. Mine! - Mine, used whenever I want something, or I don't want someone to use something. Usually it belongs to me, but sometimes I just want to have it so I call it "mine".

28. Da-down - Sit down, or get down. I use it when I want someone to sit down, or whenever I climb on something my parents don't want me to climb on. As soon as they see me I tell them "da-down!" so they know that I am smart enough to know I shouldn't do it, but will do it anyway.
29. Owl - Owl. My dad likes the way I say it so he makes me say it all the time.
30. Babiel - Gabriel, my big brother. But most of the time I still like to call him Dada. When I really want to call him, I yell it like this. (3/1) Gabel
